Retirement planning in Connecticut
Retire with a plan and a team that stays with you
We help handle the hard parts of retirement planning behind the scenes, from Social Security timing to tax minimization and Medicare. You get a plan that's easy to understand, and the same dedicated team to call when life changes.
About us
Retirement planning that doesn't end when you sign on
Many of our clients have come to us after years with an advisor they rarely heard from. Here, you'll talk with the same small team from your first meeting on, and we'll keep in touch long after your plan is in place. We work with a wide variety of clients, from families nearing or already in retirement to women and veterans. No matter who you are, you'll get a personalized one-page plan and the same dedicated team behind it.
Retirement is the center of everything we do, and that covers more than picking investments. It means looking at where your monthly income will come from, when to take Social Security, how taxes and Medicare fit in, and how your money passes to your family. We sort through those details with you, so the plan you get back is easy to understand. After that, we meet with you regularly. And when you call, you'll reach someone who already knows your history.
Services
Each part of your retirement, planned together
Every service we offer feeds into one plan and is customized with your unique retirement goals, and managed by the same team who built it.
Retirement income planning
Turn your assets into a monthly income designed to last through your retirement.
Social Security planning
Choose a claiming age that fits your plan. The right timing can mean a larger benefit for you - and potentially for your spouse later on.
Investment management
We manage your investments around the income you'll need and how much risk you're comfortable with, so your savings keep working toward your plan.
Tax efficiency planning
We help you decide money to use first, second and third. That timing can help you pay less tax over your retirement and keep more of what you saved.
Medicare planning
Sign up on time and choose coverage that fits your doctors and budget. Enrolling on time can help you avoid late-enrollment penalties that can stay with you for life.
Legacy planning
Plan how your money passes to the people you choose, helping reduce delays and paperwork for your family.
Challenges We Address
The retirement challenges we help you address
Many people we meet are asking some version of the same question: will my money last as long as I need it to? It usually comes down to a few smaller questions, and we help you answer each one.
Do I have enough to retire?
When should I take Social Security?
Can I pay less tax in retirement?
What if the market drops right after I retire?
Will my family be taken care of if something happens to me?
How it works
How we build and update your retirement plan
Our process takes you from a first conversation to a written plan of your own. After that, we keep the plan current for as long as we work together.

{ Step 1 }
Meet with the team
We start by getting to know you: where you are now, where you want to be in retirement, and what matters most to your family. You’ll also get a feel for how we work.
{ Step 2 }
Get your Lighthouse Compass
We put the numbers together, then go through your plan with you. It fits on one page, so you can see what you can spend and where that money comes from side-by-side.
{ Step 3 }
Put your plan in place
Your team puts the plan into action with you and handles the forms and follow-up along the way.
{ Step 4 }
Ongoing reviews
Your plan gets a checkup annually, plus an update whenever your life or the tax rules shift. The same people handle both.
